Privacy Policy — Gym

Summary

Gym stores all your data on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server.

Data We Store

Gym has no account or sign-in of any kind. Everything the app produces is stored locally on your device:

• Your workout routines and rotating day-cycle plans
• Logged workouts — exercises, sets, reps, weights, RPE, and completion times
• Custom exercises you create
• Your training history, progress, and trend calculations
• Preferences such as your weight unit (kg or lb) and reminder settings

All of this is processed and stored on your device. None of it is uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else.

Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health is optional and off until you turn it on. When you enable it, Gym requests read-only access to the workout data around your training sessions — workouts, active energy (calories), heart rate, resting heart rate, and your date of birth (used only to estimate heart-rate zones).

• Gym only reads from Apple Health. It never writes any data to HealthKit.
• Health data is read on demand, used on your device to enrich your session review (calories and heart-rate zones), and is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else.
• You can turn Health access off at any time in the app menu, or in the iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices screen. With it off, Gym works fully using only the data you enter.

On-Device Intelligence

Gym can generate a plain-language review of your workout. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence this runs on your device using Apple’s built-in models — your workout data is not sent to us or to any external service. You may also choose to copy a summary of your session to paste into a separate AI assistant of your own; that only happens when you initiate it, and anything you paste elsewhere is then governed by that service’s privacy policy.

Importing Data

Gym lets you import workout history from a CSV file (for example, an export from another fitness app or your own spreadsheet). The file you choose is read locally on your device and its workouts are added to your on-device history. Imported files are not uploaded anywhere.

Notifications

If you turn on inactivity reminders, Gym schedules local notifications on your device (for example, a nudge if you haven’t logged a workout in a few days). These are generated entirely on your device and are not sent through any server.

Backups

Gym lets you export your data to a JSON file, and import it back, so you can move it to a new phone. These files are created and shared only through your own actions using the iOS share sheet. Gym does not upload backups anywhere — where a backup file goes is entirely under your control.

Subscriptions

Gym offers an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial. Purchases and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. Gym never sees your payment details. We do not receive your name, email, or card information — only the anonymous subscription status Apple provides so the app can unlock.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not use analytics or crash reporting tools
• We do not track your location
• We do not share any data with third parties
• We do not have servers or a backend — there is no user account beyond what’s stored on your device
• We do not display ads

Children’s Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any changes.
