Privacy Policy — VO2Stats
Last updated: July 2026
Summary
VO2Stats stores all your data on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server.
Data We Store
VO2Stats has no account or sign-in of any kind. Everything the app produces is stored locally on your device:
- VO₂ max estimates computed from your Apple Health data using multiple scientific methods
- Historical estimates derived from your own workout and heart rate history
- Profile details used in the calculations (such as body weight, height, biological sex, and date of birth), read from Apple Health
Apple Health (HealthKit)
VO2Stats requests read-only access to Apple Health. It never writes any data back to Apple Health. It reads the following, entirely on-device:
- Workouts (running, walking, and cycling)
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Walking, running, and cycling distance
- Cycling power (watts, from Apple Watch)
- Active energy burned
- Step count
- Body weight and height
- Cardio fitness (VO₂ max), for comparison with Apple’s own estimate
- Biological sex and date of birth (used to personalize the calculations)
All of this data is processed on your device to compute your VO₂ max estimates. None of it is uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else.
You can manage HealthKit permissions at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → VO2Stats.
