Voice Amplify turns your iPhone into a simple personal sound amplifier. It listens through the microphone and plays the sound back louder through the speaker in real time — useful for hearing a soft-spoken family member, a quiet conversation, or a distant speaker more clearly.
Voice Amplify is a general-purpose amplification tool. It is not a hearing aid and is not a medical device.
How do I use it? Tap the big Start button and hold the phone so the microphone is near the person or sound you want to hear. The amplified sound comes out of the speaker. Tap Stop when you’re done.
Does Voice Amplify need an account? No. There is no sign-in, login, or registration of any kind, and no internet connection is required.
I hear a squeal or howl. How do I stop it? That squeal is audio feedback — the speaker’s sound looping back into the microphone. To reduce it:

Can I use a Bluetooth or wired microphone? Yes. If you connect a wired or Bluetooth microphone, Voice Amplify can use it as the input. Note that when a Bluetooth headset is connected, iOS may route the sound to that headset rather than the phone speaker — this is an iOS behavior, not something the app controls.
Does it record or save what I hear? No. Audio is processed live and is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. See our Privacy Policy.
Does it keep working when the screen is off? Voice Amplify amplifies while the app is open on screen. If you lock the phone or switch to another app, amplification stops. To keep the screen from dimming during use, you can raise the Auto-Lock time in Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock.
Does Voice Amplify work without internet? Yes. Everything runs entirely on your device with no internet connection.
How much does it cost? Voice Amplify is free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
A note on safe listening: Start with a lower Loudness setting and raise it gradually. Very high amplification, especially through earphones, can be uncomfortably loud.
